With over three decades of experience in Malaysia’s insurance sector, Jane Huang stands as a respected authority in claims management, legal oversight, and operational governance. She oversees the end-to-end management of all claims operations for both insurers and reinsurer across general insurance companies—covering motor and non-motor portfolios—and ensures that every claim is handled with technical accuracy, fairness, and integrity.
At the heart of Jane’s leadership philosophy lies partnership. She works hand-in-hand with adjusters, loss surveyors, investigators, and legal specialists, recognising them as vital extensions of the claims process. Her emphasis on transparent communication, timely information exchange, and evidence-based assessment enables insurers to deliver fair, efficient outcomes that protect clients’ interests.
Jane’s remit covers both strategic direction and operational execution. She reviews and approves complex claims, sets reserve policies, pursues recoveries, and advises the Board of Directors on legal exposures and regulatory compliance. She also chairs the company’s monthly performance meetings, ensuring that service standards, closure rates, and cost-management targets are consistently met. Under her guidance, insurers have implemented digital transformation initiatives, including the integration of e-claims platforms and data-imaging systems that streamline workflows and enhance transparency for all stakeholders including brokers and adjusters.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Jane represented insurance companies at key industry bodies such as the Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB), the Malaysia Motor Insurance Pool (MMIP) and Insurance Services Malaysia (ISM). As an EXCO member of the National Insurance Claims Society (NICS), she contributes to policy discussions and best-practice standards across Malaysia’s insurance ecosystem particularly in claims efficiency, fraud detection, and dispute resolution.
Jane’s professional journey includes senior leadership roles with Progressive Insurance Berhad, QBE Malaysia and Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad, where she led high-performing teams and developed claims frameworks that balanced financial prudence with customer care. Her background as a qualified lawyer (LL.B (Hons); Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) gives her an added advantage in interpreting legal and contractual nuances within claims and coverage issues.
Throughout her career, Jane has been recognised for her collaborative leadership, sound judgment, and commitment to professional ethics. She believes that successful claims management is not just about resolving losses but about reinstating confidence between insurer, adjuster, and policyholder alike.
